Brand + Design
Explore Coatings Campaign
Client: American Coatings Association
My Role: Designer, creative lead, and video producer
Explore Coatings tells the story of what coatings do in everyday life: they protect, preserve, provide, and power our world. I directed the brand’s creative and held final approval, but the challenge was to figure out how to turn a technical subject into something approachable and feel more alive to attract the next generation of coatings scientists.
American Coatings Trade Show
Client: AC Media and Vincentz Network
My Role: Lead designer and multimedia producer: brand strategy, environmental graphics, video, and
creative direction
The new brand was complete and set to debut at the show when the pandemic canceled the in-person event. We shifted to a digital launch, introducing the refreshed look through widgets, landing pages, and webinar graphics produced from our home offices. It kept the momentum going, but it wasn’t the experience we had envisioned. By 2022, with hesitation still high, we finally had the chance to bring the new brand to life in person. Attendance had always been an ongoing challenge, especially with such a strong international draw, and now we didn’t know if the numbers would be there. Design had to do the convincing. Every ad, video, and environment needed vibrancy, movement, and real joy, so people could picture themselves in the room before they ever booked a trip.

American Coatings Career Center
Client: American Coatings Association
My Role: Brand identity, logo design, booth design, print and promo, and social media design
Most young people have never heard of a career in coatings, and the industry needed them to. The challenge was recruiting new talent into work they didn’t know existed. We built a complete brand identity from the ground up for a new program, then brought it to life with a booth that makes a coatings career feel real and possible. The look is bold and industry-forward, bridging the hands-on trades with the language of tech career platforms. The question really was: If we build it, will they come?

FunRun
Client: BYK
My Role: Design a tee shirt and finish line for the biennial 5k

Cocoxo Brand
Client: Cocoxo Body Care
Scope: Brand identity, packaging, brand activations, video promo, and e-commerce website
COCOXO started at a kitchen table with whipped body butters and artisan soaps, inspired by nostalgia and family tradition. The challenge was that handmade charm doesn’t automatically earn a spot on high-end retail shelves. The brand had to look and feel premium without losing the heart that made it special. So how do you turn a small-batch love story into a brand people trust at first glance?

PaintPAC Rebrand
Client: American Coatings Association
My Role: Brand designer
PaintPAC needed an identity strong enough to be noticed on Capitol Hill. The challenge was that coatings do their best work quietly, protecting the structures people rely on every day while the people behind that work go unseen. We needed a symbol that made that invisible work visible. The Statue of Freedom has stood atop the Capitol for over 160 years, protected in part by coatings, which made it the right choice.

ACA Trade Show Booth
Client: American Coatings Association
My Role: Brand identity, booth design, print and promo, and social media design
As host of the American Coatings Show + Conference, ACA needed its booth to do four jobs at once. It had to be a place for tired members and staff to recharge, a welcoming way to meet potential new members, a space for meetings, and a home for CoatingsTech, the association’s lead publication. The challenge was making one space serve all four and feel cohesive.
